Simply…One of my favorite albums from one of my favorite “groups” of all time. Nice post!!!
Steely Dan’s 1977 album Aja was an album whose success has been based far more on its quality than its commercial potential. In 2010, it was even inducted by the Library of Congress into their United States National Recording Registry. It even won a Grammy in the the year of its release for being the best engineered non classical record of the year. For me, it represented the precision musicianship of the jazz funk era musicians who played on the album at some of their personal best. Also in 2010, I wrote a review on Amazon.com about the album and how I personally heard it.
Time has a way of testing a work of art that might be today’s masterpiece but tomorrow’s rubbish pile. One would probably find that not only would this album ace such a test with flying colors but could actually still be considered something of a…

The sentence I hear most from well-meaning, conservative friends since President Trump’s election is this: “We suffered 8 years under Barack Obama.”
Fair enough. Let’s take a look.
The day Obama took office, the Dow closed at 7,949 points. Eight years later, the Dow had almost tripled.
General Motors and Chrysler were on the brink of bankruptcy, with Ford not far behind, and their failure, along with their supply chains, would have meant the loss of millions of jobs. Obama pushed through a controversial, $8o billion bailout to save the car industry. The U.S. car industry survived, started making money again, and the entire $80 billion was paid back, with interest.
While we remain vulnerable to lone-wolf attacks, no foreign terrorist organization has successfully executed a mass attack here since 9/11.
Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.
He drew down the number…

The ones that protest homosexuality the most are often involved in this despicable behavior. They will accuse…scream and protest, but THEY are the real demons. They have the audacity to conflate homosexuality with their desire to prey on the most innocent among us.

Anti-gay pastor arrested on 70 counts of child pornography.
This is Dave Reynolds, the recently fired pastor of the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, Arkansas. He’s currently facing 70 counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing child pornography.
Oh, and he’s also vehemently antigay.
The 40-year-old pastor regularly preached that marriage is between a man and a woman and that all homosexual activity is a sin.
He was arrested after police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which claimed that a social media account in Sherwood was storing pages and pages of child pornography.
The account allegedly belonged to Reynolds.
In March, Reynolds informed elders at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship that he was under investigation for child porn possession.
When they asked if he had engaged in viewing the material, Reynolds told them he had “not knowingly done so.”
The elders ultimately…

Prince Rogers Nelson made a career and lifestyle out of being elusive, which only made our collective desire to know about his personal life even more frenzied. But being guarded also made Prince the source of a bottomless reservoir of tales of his mythology that has somehow yet to run dry. At last month’s SXSW, a few close collaborators of Prince’s reunited to celebrate his legacy at both a tribute concert and panel. Two members of Prince’s earliest bands, Grand Central and the Revolution, André Cymone and Dez Dickerson, were joined by Prince’s first manager Owen Husney to add to the Prince folklore in a conversation with Rolling Stone’s David Fricke.
Though initially cautious about betraying their friend’s trust by divulging more than he wanted fans to know, once the three got to reminiscing, the memorable anecdotes poured out. (Some…

HOW LOW CAN THEY GO?
“The kind of man who wants the government to adopt and enforce his ideas is always the kind of man whose ideas are idiotic.”

Seth Conrad Rich (January 3, 1989 – July 10, 2016) was a 27-year-old employee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) who was fatally shot in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C
The crime was used as the pretext for right-wing conspiracy theories, which have been debunked by law enforcement agencies in their official statements about the case. These theories falsely stated that there is credible evidence Rich was the source of the 2016 Democratic National Committee email leak.
According to U.S. intelligence assessments, Russian intelligence services are most likely responsible for the hacking and the leak.
I feel this is important information about what is happening in the Republican Administration lead by

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY
I can’t believe how fast time flies.
A year ago we received the news of Prince passing.
He was found in Paisley Park, lifeless.
Many theories were presented, many half truths, many rumors.
No matter the reason, a huge musical giant, an amazing musician, a masterful influence was gone.
He crossed his ‘Purple Bridge”.
And left his many fans behind!
From a Facebook Member, Josie Fletcher … had to share!
Prince isn’t dead … he just hopped on his “Little Red Corvette” … with his “Raspberry Beret” … drove off through the “Purple Rain“, over “Graffiti Bridge” … under the “Cherry Moon“, partying like it’s “1999” … because this is what happens “When Doves Cry“!!
Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) was an American…
