It rained so hard yesterday afternoon, I was really beginning to pray that Noah’s Ark would arrive to help us escape. Northeast Ohio was bombarded with funnel clouds, incredible lightning displays and monsoon like rainfall. Some areas reportedly received 6-10 inches of rain in less than 2-3 hours. When sewer cover’s explode and people have to be rescued from their vehicles via canoe-you know it’s a bad situation.
For 16 straight days(a record), severe storms have battered the region relentlessly. Sunny and oppressively humid mornings, and afternoons, have led to tumultuous thunderstorms in the evenings and overnight. Yesterday, the saturated soils were fed with what hopefully will be the final deluge of destruction for the rest of the Summer. Let’s hope that the predicted eight day stretch of mostly sunny and dry weather will allow those affected to dry out, recover and finally start enjoying the Summer of 2013.~Daryl
