Like many of my fellow Macy’s co-worker’s, I always had an uneasy feeling regarding our company’s decision to do business with Martha Helen Kostyra-better known as Martha Stewart. Even though she had began to rebuild her reputation after her insider stock trading fiasco/conviction, she, in my opinion, was nothing more than a lying, self-entitled piece of donkey dung.
It’s not like the Martha name hasn’t done well with our company. Despite the controversy surrounding her damaged brand, Macy’s helped bring this haggardly heifers image back to respectability and profitability. It appeared to be a match made in retail heaven.
Word is bond, and this convict should be posting bail once again for her lies. She turned her back on the hand that helped feed her sorry ass back to life=despite our massive undertaking of marketing, training, and unappreciated manpower that was exclusively devoted to what ultimately will be labeled as NOTHING!
JC Penney CEO Ron Johnson, who was brought in to ride the coat tails of his marketing and merchandising success at Apple has been a disaster. Slashing popular sales, alienating management from the top to the bottom, and creating a culture of confusion have been a huge part of his “legacy” thus far. This guy clearly can’t differentiate selling SOFTWARE from what it takes to successfully promote what “PEOPLE-WEAR.” It will be a pleasure too watch our company dissolve its relationship with this pot-stirring, phony, and her Steve Jobs, never will be wannabe. It will also be exciting to see how we continue to bury both the JC Penney brand, and Martha Stewart in the same maggot infested coffin-located in retail hell. ~Daryl
