To hear Mitt Romney tell it, the only thing standing between economic nirvana and todays' oppressive economy are government regulations. Republicans in Congress speak of "Free Markets" with the same reverence as religion, and if government would only get out-of-the-way, the marketplace will fix everything. Continuing on message, Past icons like Jack Welch of GE claim that onerous regulations are holding business growth back, and Faux News talking heads attack the Environmental Protection Agency as though it were a snake-headed Medusa, its many slithering arms stifling corporate growth at every turn.
